Rhythm

Normal heart rhythm is when the impulse begin from sinoatrial node spreads to atria and ventricles. This normal rhythm is known as sinus rhythm. In the sinus rhythm, ECG tracing demonstrates every P wave followed by QRS complex.

If SA node is not functioning as the pace maker, or impulses originating from SA node does not get through to the ventricle, it is known as arrhythmia.

Sinus arrythmia is a slight variation in heart rate in relation to respiration, this is a normal condition.
